Biography

Lynne Ballatore is the Democratic candidate for the Nevada State Senate, District 17, in the November 3, 2026 general election, in which she faces incumbent Republican Robin Titus.[1][3] Ballotpedia lists her as a computer programmer, and in a Ballotpedia survey she said she is running to give a more prominent voice to rural Nevada.[1][2]

Lynne Ballatore graduated from Lodi High School, earned a bachelor's degree from California State University, Chico, and received a graduate degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1988.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, she said she worked 22 years in IT for EG&G/EM Las Vegas supporting atomic testing at the Nevada Test Site and remote sensing, and served as a member of the Nuclear Emergency Search Team.[2] She said she later moved to northern Nevada and worked for 18 years in information technology at the Legislative Counsel Bureau, with a focus on budgets and the Tax Group during sessions.[2] She listed her civic involvement as past state president of Retired Public Employees of Nevada and past president and treasurer of the Historical Society of Dayton Valley, along with Friends of Dayton Valley Library, AAUW and Dayton Main Street.[2]

The Democratic primary for the seat on June 9, 2026 was canceled, and Ballatore advanced to the general election.[1] She said her priorities include rural access to high-speed internet, public transportation, distance learning and telehealth, and controls on data centers planned for rural Nevada, including no tax incentives for them.[2] She also listed funding distribution that reflects Nevada's varied needs, support for culture, arts, parks and recreation, and affordable living as policy interests.[2]
