Biography
Luke Reiner is a Republican candidate for the Wyoming House of Representatives, District 8, in the November 3, 2026 general election.[1][2] A retired Army National Guard officer, he advanced from the August 18, 2026 Republican primary.[2]
Luke Reiner graduated from Hillcrest School, earned a bachelor's degree from Concordia University, Nebraska, in 1986, and later attended the University of Wyoming (1999) and the U.S. Army War College (2005).[2] Ballotpedia lists his U.S. Army National Guard service as 1982 to 2019.[2] In a Ballotpedia survey, he said he spent 36 years in the Army, deployed to Kuwait in 2004, and spent his last eight years in uniform as Commanding General of the Wyoming Military Department, followed by four years at WYDOT.[3]
Reiner described himself in the survey as a conservative, non-caucus Republican who wants to build coalitions with people he may not agree with.[3] He said Wyoming should support its legacy industries of energy, agriculture and tourism, and named good jobs, affordable housing, available health care, excellent education and resilient infrastructure as priorities for keeping young people in the state.[3] His survey listed endorsements from groups including the Petroleum Association of Wyoming, the Wyoming Mining Association, Wyoming Realtors, the Wyoming Education Association and the Wyoming Hospital Association.[3]
