On the ballot Nov 3, 2026: Attorney General of Idaho

Biography

Lori Hickman is the Democratic nominee for Idaho Attorney General. An Idaho attorney with more than 20 years of experience, she has worked in private practice, as in-house counsel at Micron Technology and as a clerk for the U.S. District Court of Idaho. She is running on restoring trust and integrity in the office and upholding the rule of law.[1][2][3]

Hickman grew up in Boise and graduated from Borah High School.[1][5] She earned a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University in 1988 and a law degree from BYU's J. Reuben Clark Law School in 1991.[1]

Hickman practiced at law firms of various sizes, including a major firm in New York City, and later in Salt Lake City, before returning to Idaho as in-house counsel for Micron Technology.[2][3][5] She also clerked for the U.S. District Court for the District of Idaho and has represented clients in Idaho.[2][3][4] She provides pro bono counsel to guardians ad litem in child-protection cases.[3]

Hickman has not previously run for public office.[4] She won the May 19, 2026 Democratic primary and faces Republican incumbent Raúl Labrador in the November 3 general election.[1] She says her priorities include restoring trust in the Attorney General's office, protecting federal lands and preserving women's access to safe healthcare.[2][3]
