Liz Hanbidge is a Democratic state representative from Montgomery County who has represented Pennsylvania House District 61 since her 2018 election and is seeking re-election on November 3, 2026.[1][2] She has a background in family law and child advocacy and is vice chair of the House Children and Youth Committee.[1]
Hanbidge is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with advanced degrees from Oxford, Harvard and the University of Wisconsin, according to her official biography.[1] The governor appointed her to Pennsylvania's State Interagency Coordinating Council, which works on early intervention services for infants and toddlers.[1] She serves on the National Conference of State Legislatures' Juvenile Justice Task Force, was named an NCSL Youth Justice Fellow, and in 2022 was selected as a Toll Fellow by the Council of State Governments.[1]
Hanbidge assumed office on December 1, 2018.[2] Her committee assignments include Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Judiciary, Children and Youth, the Committee on Committees, Health and Local Government, and she is vice chair of the Southeastern Pennsylvania House Delegation.[1] Her biography cites Act 40 of 2024, which updated the state's slayer statute to prevent automatic inheritance by people convicted of abusing an older decedent, and a law against SLAPP lawsuits.[1] Ballotpedia lists Republican Angela Illingworth as her opponent in the general election.[2]
