Biography
Larry Nostrant is the Democratic candidate for the Idaho House of Representatives, District 7A, in the November 3, 2026 general election, facing incumbent Kyle Harris (R).[1][2] Nostrant is a U.S. Coast Guard veteran who retired as a construction manager in 2012.[1][3]
Larry Nostrant earned a bachelor's degree from Central Washington University in 1984, and Ballotpedia lists his military service as the U.S. Coast Guard from 1971 to 1987.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, he described himself as a "Conservative Democrat," a Coast Guard veteran educated in public and governmental finance, and said he retired as a construction manager in 2012 and has since volunteered with Idaho Parks and Recreation.[3]
In the same survey, Nostrant said he would seek to adjust the homeowners property tax exemption, remove the sales tax on groceries, restore full funding to public K-12 education, and preserve government ownership of public lands.[3]
