Biography
Lance Russell is the Republican nominee for South Dakota attorney general and the only candidate on the November ballot.[2] A former legislator who now serves as state's attorney for Fall River and Oglala Lakota counties, he won the party's nomination at its convention.[1][3]
Russell lives in Hot Springs.[1][2] According to his campaign's July 2025 announcement, as published by the Rapid City Post, he served 12 years in the Legislature, eight in the House and four in the Senate, and holds a Juris Doctor from the University of South Dakota School of Law.[3]
He is the state's attorney for Fall River and Oglala Lakota counties.[1] Russell won the Republican nomination in a three-way, two-round vote at the state party convention.[1]
