Biography
Krish Subrahmanian is the Democratic candidate for the Minnesota State Senate, District 49, in the November 3, 2026 general election; the seat has no incumbent, and Dustin DuFault (R) and Kris Babler (unaffiliated) are also running.[1][2] A pediatrician, he said in a Ballotpedia survey that he is a pediatrician at HCMC, an Air National Guard flight surgeon and chief medical officer of his county's Medicaid program.[3]
Krish Subrahmanian earned a bachelor's degree from Harvard University and an M.D. from Stanford University, and Ballotpedia also lists graduate study at Cambridge University and service in the U.S. Air National Guard.[2] Ballotpedia lists his profession as medical doctor.[2]
In the survey, Subrahmanian listed protection of democratic rights, including reproduction, immigration, voting and due process, rising health care costs, and a state regulatory framework for artificial intelligence as his key messages.[3] He said he supports countering fraud in social services programs with "a scalpel rather than a sledgehammer."[3]
