Biography
Kiel Reid is the Democratic candidate for the Michigan House of Representatives, District 88, in the November 3, 2026 general election, after advancing from the August 4 Democratic primary.[1][2] A small business owner who lives in Norton Shores, he says he is running on affordability and health care costs.[3]
In a Ballotpedia survey, Reid described himself as a small business owner, community builder and lifelong West Michigan resident.[3] He said he lives in Norton Shores with his wife and their two daughters, who attend Mona Shores Public Schools.[3]
Reid said his campaign does not accept corporate dollars and that he would introduce legislation capping utility rate increases for three years and a bill freezing property taxes for five years after a home purchase by first-time buyers and seniors downsizing.[3] On health care, he said he would help advance the bipartisan Wholesale Prescription Drug Importation Act, end forced overtime for nurses outside declared emergencies, and regulate hospital consolidation.[3]
