Kevin Leung

Kevin Leung is the Democratic candidate for Colorado State Senate District 30 in the November 3, 2026 general election, against incumbent Republican John Carson, having advanced from the Democratic primary on June 30, 2026.[1][3] A computer engineer and small business owner, he served on the Douglas County School District Board of Directors from 2017 to 2021.[1]

Kevin Leung graduated with a B.S. from the University of Utah in 1990 and later earned an M.B.A. and an M.S. in computer science from the University of Colorado at Denver.[1] According to Ballotpedia, he served as a consultant to the U.S. Army during the First Gulf War, and his work experience includes serving as an IT consultant and owning Magic Rabbit Carwash, Detail & Lube Co.[1] In a 2026 Ballotpedia survey, Leung said he came to the United States from Hong Kong, has lived in Douglas County for more than 35 years, and worked as an IT manager for Jeppesen, a Boeing company, and as an affiliate faculty member at Regis University.[2]

Leung was elected to the Douglas County School District Board of Directors, District E, in 2017 as part of the Community Matters slate and took office on December 12, 2017.[1] He lost his 2021 re-election bid to Christy Williams, 54.5 percent to 45.5 percent, and left office on November 29, 2021.[1] In his survey, Leung said he served as a director and board treasurer of the school district and currently serves on the South Metro Fire Rescue Board.[2]

Leung listed proven leadership and results, strong public schools and economic opportunity, and protecting communities and quality of life as his key campaign messages.[2] He said his priorities include strengthening public education, supporting teachers and expanding career and technical education.[2]
