Biography
Kevin Gerrard is the Democratic candidate for Idaho State Senate District 31 in the November 3, 2026 general election, running against incumbent Van Burtenshaw (R).[1][2] In a Ballotpedia survey, Gerrard described himself as a realtor in East Idaho who lives in Rigby.[3]
Gerrard said in a Ballotpedia survey that he grew up in East Idaho, graduated from Ririe High School in 2005 and lives in Rigby, and that he works as a realtor.[3] He said he serves on the Snake River MLS Board of Directors and has previously been involved with the Ririe Coalition for Community Development and the Ririe Chamber of Commerce.[3]
Gerrard listed three campaign messages in the survey: targeted property tax relief for primary homeowners and careful oversight of government spending, keeping decisions close to the people they affect, and protecting schools, first responders, water management and public lands access in East Idaho.[3] He also named housing affordability among the issues he cares about most.[3]
