Kenneth Brennan

Kenneth Brennan is the Republican candidate for the New Mexico House of Representatives, District 50, in the November 3, 2026 general election.[1][2] A retired Navy chief petty officer and former mayor of Edgewood, he said in a Ballotpedia survey that his top priority is retaining and attracting health care professionals to New Mexico.[3]

Kenneth Brennan was born in Norwood, Massachusetts, graduated from Cibola High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1980 to 2000.[1] He attended the University of Phoenix, and his career has included work as a manager and gas turbine electrician.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, he said he retired from the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer and then spent 23 years in the power-generation and renewable-energy industries, including 17 years in management, before retiring from the private sector in 2023.[3]

Brennan said he has served more than four years on the Edgewood Town Commission, including 28 months as appointed mayor.[3] He said he currently serves on the North Central Regional Transportation District board and executive committee, chairs the Mid-Region Regional Transportation Office board, and sits on the boards of Workforce Connections of Central New Mexico, the Mid-Region Council of Governments and the New Mexico Municipal League.[3] He advanced from the Republican primary on June 2, 2026.[1]

Brennan said his top legislative priority is retaining and attracting physicians, nurses and other medical professionals, and that he supports improved access to 24/7 emergency and urgent care in rural communities.[3] He also said New Mexico must improve its education system and better connect education with workforce needs.[3]
