Biography
Keith Mogel is the Democratic candidate for the Wisconsin State Assembly, District 75, in the November 3, 2026 general election, facing incumbent Republican Duke Tucker. A retired Army National Guard lieutenant colonel and operations manager, he lists rural school funding, rural health care and rural infrastructure as his main campaign messages.[1][2][3]
Keith Mogel graduated from Emmaus High School, earned a bachelor's degree from Pennsylvania State University in 1977 and a graduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1989, and served in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1977 to 2005, according to Ballotpedia.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, he said he attended Penn State on an ROTC scholarship, was commissioned as a second lieutenant, served 11 years on active duty and 17 years in the Wisconsin and Minnesota National Guard, and retired as a lieutenant colonel.[3] He said he has since worked for small and large businesses, earned a Six Sigma black belt and taught production and inventory control certification courses.[3]
Mogel advanced from the Democratic primary on August 11, 2026.[1] In the survey he said he wants to overhaul school funding and restructure the school voucher program, create a state-managed small business insurance cooperative and expand BadgerCare to allow single-payer purchase by self-employed people, and overhaul the state road funding formula for rural towns and counties.[3] He also named funding for the Department of Natural Resources and state parks among his personal priorities.[3]
