Karen Attia is the Republican candidate for Minnesota State Senate District 34 in the November 3, 2026 general election.[1] A registered nurse, she said in a Ballotpedia survey that she has worked as a critical care nurse for more than 30 years and has owned two small businesses.[2]
Attia's Ballotpedia profile lists her birthplace as St. Cloud, Minnesota, and a bachelor's degree from Augsburg College.[1] In the survey, she said she grew up on a multigenerational dairy farm, has lived in the North Metro for 30 years and raised four sons in Champlin as a single parent.[2] She also said she has managed a multispecialty clinic and worked on a nurse help line for a health insurance company.[2]
Attia listed accountability in government, affordability and jobs, and education focused on fundamentals as her campaign messages, and said she would seek a seat on the Senate's Health and Human Services committee.[2] Her Republican primary was canceled, and she advanced to the general election without appearing on the primary ballot.[1]
