Julie Gilman is a Democratic member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives for Rockingham 11 who is seeking re-election in the November 3, 2026 general election after advancing from the September 8 Democratic primary.[1][2] Her career experience includes work as a manager of information systems at Cambridge Seven Associates, and she has served on the Exeter select board.[2]
Julie Gilman was born in Exeter, New Hampshire, and graduated from Exeter High School.[2] She earned a bachelor's degree in architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1984 and worked as a manager of information systems with Cambridge Seven Associates, Inc.[2] Gilman has served as a selectwoman of the Town of Exeter, on the board of governors of the American Independence Museum and on the Exeter Heritage Commission.[2] In a 2024 Ballotpedia survey, she described herself as an Exeter native who had been elected to the Select Board since 2007.[3]
Ballotpedia lists Gilman's House tenure as beginning in 2016, and its committee listings show her assigned to the Municipal and County Government Committee for the 2019-2020, 2021-2022 and 2023-2024 sessions.[2] In the same survey, she listed three campaign messages: addressing affordability costs in housing directly rather than relying only on zoning and tax credits, continuing to address renewable and green energy supply, and supporting and protecting public education.[3] She named energy conservation, affordable and accessible housing and childcare, women's healthcare, education and statewide historic preservation as areas of policy she is passionate about.[3]
