Biography
Julia Andrews is a Democratic candidate for the Vermont House of Representatives, Chittenden-25 District, a seat she held from January 2023 to January 2025.[1][3] In a Ballotpedia survey, she named housing, education, commerce and tax policy as her areas of focus.[2]
Andrews was born in Massachusetts, earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1993, and works in marketing, according to Ballotpedia.[1] She represented Chittenden-25 in the Vermont House of Representatives from January 4, 2023, to January 8, 2025, when Brenda Steady (R) succeeded her.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, she described her community service as including running the Westford Food Shelf, serving on the Westford Selectboard, and sitting on the boards of the Westford Common Hall and the Chittenden County Communications Union District.[2]
Andrews said in the survey that housing is the cornerstone issue facing Vermont and that Vermont built more homes in 2025 than in years because of investments made while she was in office.[2] She said she supports the Redistricting Task Force's recommendation of cooperative districts for shared services rather than forced district mergers, and that she would work to end the consolidation of teacher health care plans.[2]
