Biography
Josh Williams is a Republican candidate for the Vermont State Senate in the Bennington District in the November 3, 2026 general election, having advanced from the August 11 Republican primary.[1][2] Ballotpedia lists his profession as real estate, and in a Ballotpedia survey he described himself as an Arlington resident and business owner who is "not a career politician."[2][3]
Josh Williams said in a Ballotpedia survey that he has worked in real estate, public service and operations, and that his commitment to public service was shaped by watching his grandfather in the foothills of North Carolina.[3] He listed three campaign priorities: opposing new broad-based taxes and fees while seeking property tax relief tied to spending discipline; reforming education finance while supporting both public schools and approved independent schools; and defending property rights and local control, including pushing back against Act 181.[3] Williams also named streamlining permitting, protecting working lands, and strengthening volunteer emergency medical services among the issues he cares about, and he listed Vermont Realtors among his endorsers.[3]
