John Inglis is a Democratic state representative from Pennsylvania House District 38 who took office on December 1, 2024, and is seeking re-election in the November 3, 2026 general election.[1] A former high school civics and psychology teacher who became a school counselor, he has also served on the West Mifflin Borough Council.[2]
Inglis earned a bachelor's degree from Duquesne University and a graduate degree from Westminster College, and his career experience includes working as an educator.[1] In a 2024 Ballotpedia survey, he said he taught civics and psychology for many years at West Mifflin Area High School before becoming a counselor there, and that he was a twice-elected member of the West Mifflin Borough Council.[2]
Inglis defeated Republican Stone Sobieralski in the November 5, 2024 general election for District 38, succeeding Nick Pisciottano.[1] Sobieralski is again his opponent on the November 3, 2026 ballot.[1] In the same survey, Inglis listed school funding, workers' rights and support for first responders as his key campaign messages.[2]
