Biography
John Douglas Barr II is an independent candidate for the Rhode Island State Senate, District 17, in the November 3, 2026 general election; he owns Bedbug Extermination RI and was the Democratic nominee for the same seat in 2020.[1][2]
John Douglas Barr II ran for the Rhode Island House of Representatives, District 46, in 2012 and lost the Democratic primary to incumbent Jeremiah O'Grady.[1] In 2020 he won the Democratic primary for Rhode Island State Senate District 17 and then lost the general election to incumbent Republican Thomas Paolino, 40.7 percent to 59.1 percent.[1] According to Ballotpedia, he and his wife Sharon have four children.[1]
