Joe Jividen graduated from The Linsly School and, according to Ballotpedia, from West Liberty University in 2015.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, he said he has worked for more than a decade at an elementary and middle school, first in the classroom and now in a role focused on building partnerships between the school and the community.[2] He also said he serves on the board of Holy Family Childcare Center and lives in Ohio County with his wife and family.[2]
Jividen was unopposed in the May 12, 2026 Democratic primary.[1] In the survey, he named utility bills, housing, childcare, health care, taxes and the cost of raising a family as his focus, and said he wants to modernize the school funding formula and invest in flood resiliency.[2] He listed the West Virginia Association of Realtors, Education WV, the West Virginia Building and Construction Trades, the West Virginia AFL-CIO, the Communication Workers of America and LAWPAC among his endorsers.[2]
