Biography
Jim Walkowicz is the Working Class Party candidate for Michigan's 9th District, advanced from the party's June 6, 2026 convention. A retired state health and human services employee and longtime union representative, he has appeared on this district's general-election ballot in earlier cycles.[3][1][4]
Walkowicz first ran in the 9th District as a Working Class Party candidate in 2022. Michigan Public reported then that he had recently retired from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and had been a union representative for 40 years.[2][1][4] He appeared on the district's general-election ballot again in 2024 as the party's nominee, according to Bridge Michigan, losing to Rep. Lisa McClain both times.[2][5]
