DCandidate

On the ballot Nov 3, 2026: Pennsylvania House District 28

Biography

Jeremy Ferderber is the Democratic candidate for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives District 28 in the November 3, 2026 general election, after winning the May 19 Democratic primary.[1] An environmental consultant, he faces incumbent Republican Jeremy Shaffer.[1]

Jeremy Ferderber earned a degree in Environmental Science with a minor in Spanish from Allegheny College in 2000, after graduating from Mars High School.[1][2] In a Ballotpedia survey, he said he grew up just outside House District 28 on his family's organic farm.[2] He said he spent almost two decades in South Florida working in environmental consulting, specializing in indoor air quality.[2]

Ferderber said he and his family later moved back to Pennsylvania and now live in the Pine-Richland School District, where he volunteers in schools, coaches youth soccer and helps run his family's natural-foods distribution business.[2] He said he served on the Pine-Richland book review committee.[2] He defeated Robert Bertha in the Democratic primary, 66.7% to 32.8%.[1] Among his campaign messages, he said he wants to secure rights at the state level that are at risk from the loss of federal protections, and to make living costs more affordable by taxing legalized marijuana and developing renewable energy.[2]
