Biography
Jennifer Todd is the Democratic nominee for Illinois's 15th Congressional District and a nurse and small business owner from Edwardsville. She won a four-way Democratic primary in March 2026 and is making her first run for office, against incumbent Republican Mary Miller.[1][2][3]
Todd was born in Illinois and graduated from Centralia High School.[1] She earned an associate degree from Kaskaskia Community College and bachelor's degrees from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and Southern Illinois University Carbondale.[1] Her career experience includes working as a nurse and small business owner; NPR Illinois / St. Louis Public Radio describes her as an Edwardsville nurse, and in her WTTW voter guide entry she lists her occupation as retired registered nurse and reports no previous political experience.[1][2][3]
Todd won the March 17, 2026 Democratic primary with 45.7% of the vote over Paul Davis, Randy Raley and Kyle Nudo.[1] In the primary she presented herself as someone who understands working-class struggles, having used Medicaid, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and unemployment benefits.[2] She lives in Edwardsville, less than a mile outside the district, and told the outlet she would move to Logan County if elected.[2]
