Biography

Jason Murillo is the Republican and Conservative Party nominee for the open State Senate District 27 seat. A Lower East Side native known as "DJ Loud Mouth" in radio and media, he is listed by Ballotpedia as a politician and attorney. He ran for New York City Council District 2 in 2025 and lost the general election, and was listed as a withdrawn or disqualified candidate in the February 2026 special election for Assembly District 74.[1][2]

Jason Murillo was born in New York City and graduated from Seward Park High School.[1] In his 2024 Ballotpedia survey he describes himself as a lifelong Lower East Side and East Village resident and, under the name "DJ Loudmouth," a media producer and radio host with about 20 years in television and radio, including programming on WPAT 930 AM; Ballotpedia lists his profession as politician and attorney.[1][2] In that survey he also describes himself as a Manhattan Republican Party member, chair of the Manhattan Young Conservatives Club, a community board member, and a 74th Assembly District leader and leader of the Manhattan Conservative Party, though the survey gives both current and former district leader titles.[2]

Murillo was the Republican and Conservative candidate for New York City Council District 2 in November 2025, losing to Harvey Epstein (D/WFP), 78.0% to 16.5%.[1] Ballotpedia lists him as a withdrawn or disqualified Republican/Conservative candidate in the February 3, 2026 special election for New York Assembly District 74, won by Keith Powers (D); he did not appear on that ballot.[1] He advanced to the general election for Senate District 27 after the June 23, 2026 Republican and Conservative primaries were canceled.[1]
