Biography
Jason Moore is the Democratic candidate for North Carolina House of Representatives District 13, running against incumbent Republican Celeste Cairns in the November 3, 2026 general election.[1][3] An insurance agency owner, he says in a Ballotpedia survey that his priorities include home insurance reform, education, and support for military families and small businesses, including commercial fishing.[1][2]
Moore earned a high school diploma from Person High School and a bachelor's degree from North Carolina State University in 2001.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey he said he is a lifelong North Carolinian and the son of a veteran, farmer and teacher, and that he coaches in a little league.[2] He described his career as spanning business, agriculture and public policy, and said he has spent two decades in the insurance field.[2]
Moore said he is running because homeowners insurance costs for coastal families in Carteret and Craven Counties have risen sharply, and that he wants to take on home insurance reform.[2]
