Biography
James Pierson is the Republican candidate for the Rhode Island State Senate, District 33, in the November 3, 2026 general election, having won the September 9, 2026 Republican primary.[1] Ballotpedia lists him as a current member of the Coventry Public Schools board, District 5, and he was also the Republican nominee for the same Senate seat in 2024.[1]
James Pierson won the 2024 Republican primary for Rhode Island State Senate District 33 and lost the general election to incumbent Democrat Leonidas Raptakis, 41.5 percent to 58.2 percent.[1] In 2026 he faces Raptakis again.[1] Ballotpedia reports that Pierson signed the U.S. Term Limits Pledge.[1]
