Jack Richardson

Jack Richardson is the Democratic candidate for the Massachusetts House of Representatives 3rd Barnstable District in the November 3, 2026 general election against incumbent Republican David Vieira.[1][2] In a Ballotpedia survey, he described himself as a third-generation, lifelong Falmouth resident who has served on the Falmouth Select Board.[3]

Jack Richardson said in a Ballotpedia survey that his family ran the Elm Arch Inn in downtown Falmouth for almost a century, and that he attended Falmouth Public Schools and then American University in Washington, D.C.[3] According to the survey, he worked full-time on Capitol Hill during his junior and senior years.[3]

Richardson said in the survey that he has served on the Falmouth Select Board and the Falmouth Housing Authority and is a town meeting member for Precinct 9, and that he was the youngest person elected to the Select Board in the town's history.[3] He listed among the board's actions a 10 percent residential tax exemption, a ban on Immigration and Customs Enforcement presence on town property without a judicial warrant, and permanent conservation of the Long Pond watershed.[3]

Richardson's stated campaign priorities include lowering housing costs for year-round Cape Cod residents, municipally owned utilities, Medicare for All in Massachusetts, and investment in green energy.[3] He won the September 1, 2026 Democratic primary, according to Ballotpedia.[2]
