Biography
Jack L'Heureux is the Democratic candidate for the Minnesota House of Representatives, District 11B, in the November 3, 2026 general election; the August 11 Democratic primary for the seat was canceled.[1][2] A healthcare executive, he said in a Ballotpedia survey that he was administrator and CEO of a long-term care facility, then executive director of the Mora Housing and Redevelopment Authority, and has served as mayor of Mora.[1][3]
Jack L'Heureux graduated from Falls High School and earned a bachelor's degree from Metropolitan State University in 1982.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, he said he spent most of his career as administrator and CEO of a long-term care facility, with experience in management, budgeting and health care policy.[3] He said his second career was as executive director of the Mora Housing and Redevelopment Authority, working on affordable housing in Kanabec, Pine, Chisago and Isanti counties through federal HUD programs.[3] He listed community service as mayor of Mora, a council member, and a member of the Mora EDA, the Kanabec County EDA, the chamber of commerce, the Kanabec County hospital board and the East Central Area Agency on Aging.[3]
L'Heureux named access to rural health care as his first priority, citing federal Medicaid reductions and the end of Affordable Care Act subsidies as threats to rural hospitals, clinics and nursing homes.[3] He listed housing affordability and environmental issues, including water quality, air quality, climate change and energy generation, as his other main issues.[3] He said the Minnesota DFL Party, the DFL Rural Caucus, the DFL Environmental Caucus, Friends of the Boundary Waters Canoe Action Network and Education Minnesota had endorsed him.[3]
