Biography
Jace Yarbrough is the Republican nominee for the open 32nd District seat, a Dallas-based attorney and Air Force Reserve officer with degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and Stanford Law School. He lost the 2024 Republican runoff for Texas State Senate District 30 and was endorsed for this seat by President Trump. According to his Ballotpedia survey, he is running on border security, immigration enforcement and the America First agenda.[1][2][3][4]
Jace Yarbrough was raised in the Jim Ned area, a small West Texas community, according to a Dallas Express interview, and his campaign website calls him a seventh-generation Texan.[2][7] He earned a B.S. in electrical engineering and a B.A. in government from the University of Texas at Austin.[2][1] After graduating he served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force and, according to a January 2026 interview, continues in the Reserves.[2][1] Yarbrough attended Stanford Law School from 2015 to 2018 and became a Dallas-based trial attorney; Ballotpedia News describes him as a constitutional law attorney and co-founder of Saint Francis Academy. His campaign website says he and his wife, Elizabeth, co-founded a classical Christian academy and that he is the father of five.[2][4][1][7]
In a 2023 interview, Yarbrough said he refused an order from his reserve command to take the COVID-19 vaccine, citing his faith, after 12 years of service.[3] In October 2023 he filed a federal lawsuit over a letter of admonishment he received for remarks at a 2021 military retirement ceremony, and a judge allowed the case to proceed in September 2025. According to his Ballotpedia survey, First Liberty Institute represented him, and he says he served as an election-integrity lawyer for Donald Trump's campaign.[5][1]
Yarbrough ran for Texas State Senate District 30 in 2024, finishing second in the Republican primary on March 5 and losing the May 28 runoff to Brent Hagenbuch, 56.7% to 43.3%.[1][3] He then entered the 32nd District race, finishing in the top two of the March 3, 2026 Republican primary; the May 26 runoff against Ryan Binkley was canceled, making Yarbrough the nominee. President Trump endorsed him on February 4, 2026.[6][4]
