Ivan Maluski

Ivan Maluski is the Democratic, Working Families Party and Independent Party of Oregon candidate for Oregon House of Representatives District 11 in the November 3, 2026 general election, where he faces Republican Ken Jackola in a race with no incumbent.[1][2] Maluski is a farmer and rancher near Scio who previously worked as policy director for the group Friends of Family Farmers.[2][3]

Ivan Maluski earned a bachelor's degree from Lewis & Clark College, and his listed career experience includes work as a farmer, rancher and policy director.[2] In a 2024 Ballotpedia survey, Maluski said he raises grass-fed beef, hay and other crops on his family farm near Scio, Oregon, and that he worked for nearly a decade as policy director for Friends of Family Farmers.[3] He said that work included helping craft legislation to establish Oregon's Beginning and Expanding Farmer loan program, to protect the Willamette Valley seed industry, to invest in local meat processing, and to protect farmland from development.[3] He also said he served four years as an elected director of a rural fire protection district.[3]

Maluski ran for House District 11 in 2024 as an unaffiliated candidate and lost to incumbent Jami Cate, who received 73.8 percent of the vote to his 25.9 percent.[2] In 2026 he advanced from the May 19 Democratic primary with 96.2 percent of the vote.[2] In the 2024 survey, Maluski said his priorities were protecting farmland, family-scale farms and rural quality of life, improving health care affordability and accessibility, and investing in education.[3]
