Biography
Houston Brignano is the Republican nominee for California's 36th District. A South Bay native and Marine veteran of two Iraq tours, he is described by the Daily Bruin as a technology executive. He placed second in the June 2026 primary and is running on federal spending transparency, housing and healthcare costs, and AI-focused job training.[1][2][3]
Houston Brignano says he is a South Bay native, born and raised there.[3] He says he joined the Marine Corps right out of high school and deployed for two tours in Iraq, an experience he cites as shaping his focus on government accountability.[1][3] The Daily Bruin describes him as a technology executive who has advocated for an immigration system that prioritizes American-born citizens in the job market and for AI-focused job training programs.[2]
Brignano says he lives in the South Bay with his wife and three daughters, whom the family homeschools, and that he serves on the boards of a homeschool co-op in Redondo Beach and a church in Old Torrance.[3] He placed second in the June 2, 2026 nonpartisan primary with 15.3% of the vote (35,851 votes), advancing to the general election against Rep. Ted Lieu.[1][2]
