Biography

Gregory (Greg) Levy is an independent candidate in the November 3, 2026, special election for U.S. Senate in Ohio. According to his campaign website, he is a community organizer, singer, veteran and mover from Akron, Ohio, and a socialist; the campaign's materials link it to the Party for Socialism and Liberation.[1][2]

Levy was born in the Joy Park housing projects and raised in Akron, the third of six boys, according to his campaign website. His father was a union electrician at Ford for 30 years and his mother was a nurse, and the family was active in church music, which the site says led him to found the Paul Robeson Revolutionary Choir, which performs at church and community venues.[1] As a young man he joined the military hoping to secure college funding, and his son was born during his service; the campaign says becoming a father shaped his later commitment to fighting police brutality in Ohio.[1] He has worked as a mover and, according to his campaign, still does.[1]
