Biography
Francis Lombard is the Democratic and Working Families Party candidate for the Connecticut House of Representatives, District 8, in the November 3, 2026 general election against Republican William Gifford, in a race with no incumbent.[1][2] In a Ballotpedia survey, he described himself as a quality assurance senior lab technician in Connecticut's dairy industry and listed lower property taxes, school funding and housing costs as key messages.[3]
In a Ballotpedia survey, Lombard said he grew up in a family-owned small business that has operated for 100 years, worked in entertainment and publishing as a writer and editor, and ran his own small publishing company.[3] He said he now works as a Quality Assurance Senior Lab Technician in Connecticut's dairy industry, where he ensures production lines meet state and federal regulations, including OSHA and HACCP standards.[3]
Lombard said he would push for increased state funding for towns, including Education Cost Sharing, to lower property taxes, and for more state school funding to meet mandates and student needs.[3] He also named housing costs and availability as a priority, and said the high cost of electricity in Connecticut was the policy area he was most passionate about.[3] He listed endorsements from the Bolton, Columbia, Coventry, Lebanon and Tolland Democratic Town Committees, the 35th DCSS, UFCW Local 371, the Connecticut State Building Trades Council and the AFL-CIO.[3]
