Eva Romero is the Republican candidate for Tennessee House of Representatives District 60 in the November 3, 2026 general election, where she faces incumbent Democrat Shaundelle Brooks.[1][2] In a Ballotpedia survey, she described herself as a former high school history teacher and business owner who serves as a Governor-appointed commissioner on the Tennessee Housing Development Agency.[3]
Romero said in a Ballotpedia survey that she was raised in poverty by a single mother, was the first in her family to graduate high school and attend college, and taught high school history before starting a business.[3] She said she became the first Latina to franchise with Century 21 in Tennessee and, with her husband Dr. Jaime Romero, co-founded Solace Oral Surgery & Implant Center.[3] She described herself as a mother of five and a resident of Old Hickory Village, and said Gov. Bill Lee appointed her to the Tennessee Housing Development Agency.[3]
Romero advanced from the Republican primary on August 6, 2026.[1] Her stated priorities in the survey include a cap on annual property tax increases, a property tax freeze for residents over 65 on their primary residence, support for police use of license plate readers, and a new vocational school in Old Hickory.[3]
