Biography
Eric Nathanson is the Democratic candidate for the Maine House of Representatives, District 124, in the November 3, 2026 general election, after advancing from the June 9, 2026 Democratic primary.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, he described himself as a Maine Guide and an educator.[2]
Nathanson is running in a race with no incumbent against Republican Scott Doherty and independent Mary Shannon Lindstrom.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, Nathanson said his first job as a young teen was doing odd jobs for a general contractor and helping a neighbor with a flower farm, and that his first job for a corporation was as a ride operator at Palace Playland amusement park.[2]
In the same survey, Nathanson named climate change, affordability and what he called fascism as his key campaign messages, and he said he supports policies that solve multiple problems at once.[2] He listed conservation, worker protections, public transit and other infrastructure, education, healthcare, domestic abuse and violence protection, childcare, and antitrust among the policy areas he is passionate about.[2] Asked about compromise, he wrote that it is desirable when the compromises make sense and everyone is genuinely trying to improve conditions for people.[2]
