On the ballot Nov 3, 2026: Florida House District 35

Biography

Eric Gray is the Democratic candidate for the Florida House of Representatives, District 35, in the November 3, 2026 general election, against Republican incumbent Erika Booth.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, he described himself as a seventh-generation Floridian and nonprofit executive who leads the Christian Service Center for the Homeless.[2]

Gray said in a Ballotpedia survey that he has spent more than 25 years serving Central Florida, including as executive director of United Against Poverty Orlando and of the Central Florida chapter of the American Lung Association before his current role.[2] He said he serves on the Orange County Planning & Zoning Commission, previously served on the county's Tourist Development Tax Advisory Task Force, and is a past chair of the East Orlando Chamber of Commerce.[2] He also ran for the Orange County Board of County Commissioners, District 4, but did not appear on the ballot for the August 18, 2026 primary.[1]

Gray named affordability, including housing, transportation, and smart growth, a path to economic success through education and workforce training, and local control as his key campaign messages.[2] He called fighting poverty and helping people build stable lives his greatest policy passion.[2]
