Elijah Crane

RU.S. Representative · AZ-2

On the ballot Nov 3, 2026: U.S. House · Arizona's 2nd District

Biography

Eli Crane is the Republican incumbent for Arizona's 2nd Congressional District, first elected in 2022. He served in the U.S. Navy from 2001 to 2014, including three deployments with SEAL Team 3, and co-founded the company Bottle Breacher, which he sold in 2022. He serves on the House Committees on Oversight and Government Reform and Homeland Security.[1][2][3]

Crane was born in Tucson, Arizona, in 1980 and raised in Yuma, where he graduated from Cibola High School in 1998, according to Wikipedia.[4] He describes himself as born and raised in Arizona. He attended Arizona Western College and the University of Arizona, according to Ballotpedia, and his official biography says he left the University of Arizona during his senior year to enlist in the Navy a week after the September 11 attacks.[1][3] He served in the Navy for 13 years, taking part in five wartime deployments, three of them with SEAL Team 3.[1][3]

In 2012, Crane and his wife, Jen, co-founded Bottle Breacher, a veteran-owned business that makes bottle openers from shell casings. It started in their garage and grew to employ dozens, and a deal with investors Mark Cuban and Kevin O'Leary on Shark Tank was televised nationally. They sold the company in 2022.[1][3] Crane won the 2022 Republican primary for Arizona's 2nd District and then defeated incumbent Rep. Tom O'Halleran 53.9% to 46.1% in the general election.[3] He was re-elected in 2024, defeating Democrat Jonathan Nez 54.5% to 45.5%, and advanced from the July 21, 2026 Republican primary.[3]

In the House, Crane serves on the Committee on Homeland Security (Border Security and Enforcement; Transportation and Maritime Security subcommittees) and the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform (Cybersecurity, Information Technology, and Government Innovation; Military and Foreign Affairs subcommittees). In 2023-2024 he also served on the Veterans' Affairs and Small Business committees.[2][3] He is a member of the House Freedom Caucus, Western Caucus and Border Security Caucus, among others.[2] Crane lives in Arizona with his wife, Jen, and their two daughters, according to his official biography.[1]
