Biography
Dennis Mahoney is running as an Independent for Pennsylvania's 3rd Congressional District. His campaign describes his career in disaster relief and long-term development and his work on cross-sector coalitions in Philadelphia, and lists five platform commitments: ending the benefits cliff, housing, neighborhood connectivity, family stability and generational wealth.[1][2]
Mahoney is from South Philadelphia and was 34 years old as of September 2026, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer.[3] He has worked in disaster relief and humanitarian aid for about a decade, including through Food for the Hungry and a former Washington, D.C., church, and the Inquirer reports he has dispatched aid after hurricanes in the United States and Puerto Rico and in poverty crises in 18 countries.[3] According to his Ballotpedia Candidate Connection survey, he founded AOI Solutions, a firm focused on disaster relief and humanitarian response.[1][3]
Mahoney is a first-time candidate who told the Inquirer he has belonged to both major parties.[1][3] He qualified for the ballot with about 19,000 petition signatures, according to the Inquirer and his survey.[1][3]
