Demi Busatta Cabrera

Demi Busatta Cabrera is the Republican state representative for Florida House of Representatives District 114, which she has represented since November 2020.[1] Ballotpedia reports that she won re-election in 2026 outright because the primary and general elections were canceled.[1][2]

Busatta Cabrera was born in Cape Coral, Florida, lives in Coral Gables, and earned a bachelor's degree from Florida State University.[1] Her career experience includes working as chief of staff for State Senator Anitere Flores, as statewide coordinator of the Senate Page Program for High School Students with the Office of the Senate Sergeant at Arms, and as a Homicide Division intern with the 20th Judicial Circuit's Office of the State Attorney.[1]

Busatta Cabrera was first elected in 2020, defeating Democrat Jean-Pierre Bado 54.4% to 45.6%, and assumed office on November 3, 2020.[1] She won re-election in 2022 over Adam Benna with 56.4% of the vote and in 2024 over Matthew Bornstein with 58.4%.[1] Ballotpedia lists her committee assignments as the House Judiciary Committee and Joint Administrative Procedures Committee in 2021-2022, the House Budget Committee and State Affairs Committee in 2023-2024, and the Joint Legislative Budget Commission in 2025-2026.[1]

In a 2020 Ballotpedia survey, Busatta Cabrera said she works for a nonprofit serving adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities.[3] In that survey she listed protecting Florida's waterways and combating sea level rise, public health preparedness and school resources as key messages.[3]
