Dean Tarulli

Dean Tarulli is the Democratic candidate for the New York State Assembly, District 15, in the November 3, 2026 general election.[1][3] In a Ballotpedia survey, he described himself as a Glen Head resident who has spent more than 15 years administering infrastructure, clean water and environmental projects, and who is now Deputy Director of Coastal Resilience for New York City.[2]

Tarulli lists a bachelor's degree from Stony Brook University, awarded in 2012, and North Shore High School as his schooling.[1] In a Ballotpedia survey, he said he studied marine science at Stony Brook and began his career at the state Department of Environmental Conservation.[2] He said he later worked on the $125 million Living with the Bay project in Nassau County and on Westchester County's flood mitigation capital plan.[2] He also said that after Hurricane Sandy the state put him in charge of safeguarding more than $500 million in federal disaster-recovery funds, and that he now oversees more than $1.6 billion in infrastructure as Deputy Director of Coastal Resilience for New York City.[2]

In the same survey, Tarulli said his priorities include increasing High Tax Aid for schools, housing policy set by local communities rather than state mandates, and stronger oversight of state spending.[2] He also described a plan to expand New York communities' participation in the federal Community Rating System to lower flood insurance premiums.[2] He listed 314 Action as an endorser.[2]
