Danny Minton is the Democratic nominee for Texas's 6th Congressional District. Raised in Oklahoma, he describes a career in medical sales and says he left the Republican Party for the Democratic Party. His campaign emphasizes health care, public education and small businesses.[1][2]

According to his Ballotpedia biography, Minton was raised in a working-class family in Oklahoma. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1995; his campaign biography says the degree is in zoology and that he completed master's-level work in epidemiology.[1][2] He has worked as a sales representative, including in women's healthcare, and his campaign biography describes consultative sales work training physicians and supporting patients with illnesses including breast cancer and Alzheimer's disease.[1][2]

Minton says he identified as a Republican for years out of loyalty to his roots before switching to the Democratic Party.[1] He advanced unopposed from the March 3, 2026 Democratic primary.[2]
