Biography

Daniel Wilson, also known as Dan, is the Democratic candidate for the Minnesota House of Representatives, District 26A, in the November 3, 2026 general election.[1][2] A farmer with a bachelor's degree from Winona State University, he said in a Ballotpedia survey that his focus is making Winona more affordable through housing and child care.[1][3]

Wilson described himself in a 2025 Ballotpedia survey as a housing advocate and rural father who grazes cows part time.[3] Ballotpedia lists his profession as farmer and his education as a bachelor's degree from Winona State University in 2009.[1]

Wilson said he would seek bonding bill funds for a downtown Winona apartment building with 100 units of affordable housing, and that he is committing to fund a child care center in Winona Area Public Schools.[3] He listed housing, child care, economic fairness, personal liberty and putting Winona first and party last as his policy interests, and said he would limit what outside political action committees can spend on legislative seats.[3]
