Biography
Conrad Cable is a farmer from Union Parish running as a Democratic candidate for Louisiana's 4th Congressional District.[1][2] He describes himself as a first-generation farmer and is campaigning on Medicare for All, food security and campaign-finance reform.[1][2]
Cable grew up in Union Parish and has lived in Louisiana his entire life, and his campaign website says he grew up in the town of Marion.[1][2] He graduated from Ouachita Christian School and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2017.[1][2]
After losing his job during COVID, he and his brother built a small farm in Union Parish, and he now runs a vegetable farm with his brother in Marion.[1][2] He says his decision to run was shaped by the closure of his childhood school after funding cuts and by the Citizens United ruling.[1][2]
