Biography
Cody York is the Democratic candidate for the New Hampshire House of Representatives, Merrimack 4, in the November 3, 2026 general election.[1][2] In a Ballotpedia survey, York described himself as a lifelong Granite Stater and former campaign manager who grew up in Canterbury.[3]
York said in his Ballotpedia survey that he grew up on a dirt road in Canterbury and is 24 years old.[3] He said that watching people he grew up with leave town because of high costs, his grandmother struggle to find affordable housing, and voters he spoke with as a campaign manager describe their property taxes as crushing led him to run.[3] He advanced from the Democratic primary on September 8, 2026.[1]
York said in the survey that his priorities include easing property tax burdens without a sales or income tax, funding public schools, raising Medicaid reimbursements for home care, and encouraging towns to expand housing options through state incentives.[3] He listed former state representatives Howard Moffett, George Saunderson and Frank Tupper, Merrimack County Sheriff David Croft, and sheriff candidate Peter Shephard as endorsers.[3]
