Cody Cumpston is the Democratic candidate for the West Virginia House of Delegates, District 6, in the November 3, 2026 general election.[1][2] He ran for the same seat in 2024, losing to incumbent Republican Jeffrey Stephens.[1]
Cumpston said in a Ballotpedia survey that Marshall County has always been his home and that he and his wife, Erica, have been married 20 years and have two daughters.[3] He lost the 2024 general election for District 6 to Stephens, 56.1 percent to 43.9 percent.[1] In 2026 he advanced from the Democratic primary on May 12 and faces Republican Don Dewitt, who defeated Stephens in the Republican primary.[1]
In the survey, Cumpston listed pro-family, pro-affordability and pro-working-class as his key messages.[3] He said he wants to focus on creating good jobs, strengthening unions, lowering everyday costs and supporting local businesses, and he named IBEW 141 as an endorser.[3]
