DCandidate

On the ballot Nov 3, 2026: New Hampshire House Hillsborough 19

Biography

Chrissy Simonds is the Democratic candidate for the New Hampshire House of Representatives, Hillsborough 19, in the November 3, 2026 general election.[1][2] In a Ballotpedia survey, she said she is running because the best leaders are those who have lived the challenges they are working to solve, and she named housing, education and health care as her priorities.[3]

Simonds said in a Ballotpedia survey that her life experiences include dropping out of high school, being homeless and experiencing domestic violence, and that she benefited from the services of local nonprofits.[3] She said those experiences led her to become an advocate and to run for state representative.[3]

On housing, Simonds said in the survey that she wants more supportive housing with wrap-around services for people coming out of homelessness, more tiny houses, and fewer regulatory barriers to building affordable housing.[3] On education, she said she wants schools in Manchester properly staffed, including paraprofessionals, and called New Hampshire's current school funding formula broken.[3] On health care, she said she has been on Medicaid herself and wants to restore $51 million cut from the Department of Health and Human Services in the last state budget and eliminate premiums for Medicaid recipients.[3]
