Chris Dobis

RCandidate

On the ballot Nov 3, 2026: Michigan House District 26

Biography

Chris Dobis is the Republican candidate for the Michigan House of Representatives, District 26, in the November 3, 2026 general election, in which Dobis faces incumbent Democrat Dylan Wegela.[1][2] An engineer by profession, Dobis says the campaign centers on public safety, education and the cost of living.[2][3]

Chris Dobis earned a high school diploma from United Christian High School, and Ballotpedia lists the candidate's career experience as working as an engineer.[2] Dobis advanced from the August 4, 2026 Republican primary.[2]

In a Ballotpedia survey, Dobis described the district as covering Garden City, Inkster, Northern Romulus and Westland and said the candidacy is not that of a career politician.[3] Dobis said the campaign would back law enforcement funding and tougher penalties for repeat violent offenders, expand school choice and vocational and trade programs, and lower the tax burden on Michigan families.[3]
