Chris Brown is the Republican and Conservative Party candidate for New York State Senate District 55 in the November 3, 2026 general election, running against incumbent Democrat Samra Brouk.[1] A software engineering leader, he says he serves on the Webster Conservation Board and the Webster Republican Committee.[2][3]
Brown earned a high school diploma from South Jefferson High School and a bachelor's degree from St. John Fisher College in 2001, according to Ballotpedia.[1] His campaign website says he is a Software Engineer Project Leader at L3Harris Technologies, where he manages teams and projects, and that he previously was a site team leader with CACI International supporting U.S. Army Special Operations.[3] The website also says he is a member of the Knights of Columbus and has coached local youth sports programs.[3]
In a Ballotpedia survey, Brown described himself as a husband, father and longtime District 55 resident who is not a career politician.[2] He listed the cost of living, including energy bills and taxes, public safety, and support for women and families as key messages, and said he supports an all-of-the-above energy strategy that includes nuclear, natural gas, renewables and emerging technologies.[2] He listed endorsements from the Rochester Police Locust Club and Republican Women of Rochester.[2]
