Biography
Cecilia Castellano is the Democratic candidate for Texas House of Representatives District 80 in the November 3, 2026 general election, running against incumbent Republican Don McLaughlin.[1] She also ran for the seat in 2024, when she lost the general election to McLaughlin.[1]
Castellano first appeared on the District 80 ballot in 2024, when she finished first in a five-candidate Democratic primary on March 5, 2024, and then defeated Rosie Cuellar in the May 28, 2024 primary runoff.[1] McLaughlin defeated her in the November 5, 2024 general election, 59.5 percent to 40.5 percent.[1] Castellano won the Democratic primary on March 3, 2026, defeating Julie Hilberg with 76.7 percent of the vote.[1]
