Biography
Brendan Gomez is the Constitution Party candidate for Idaho's 1st Congressional District. He previously ran for Idaho State Senate District 22 in 2022 and for this U.S. House seat in 2024, both as the Constitution Party candidate. According to state court records cited by the Idaho Capital Sun (Sept. 17, 2026), he was charged with 10 counts of willfully possessing child sex abuse material and, under a plea agreement, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of sexually exploitative materials; sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 16, and the state recommended a fixed term of three years with 12 years indeterminate. The article said his attorney could not be immediately reached.[1][2]
Gomez first appeared on the ballot in 2022, when he ran for Idaho State Senate District 22 as the Constitution Party candidate and lost the general election to incumbent Lori Den Hartog (R).[1] In 2024 he advanced from the Constitution Party primary for this U.S. House seat on May 21. For 2026, the Constitution Party's May 19 primary was canceled, and he advanced to the general election without appearing on a primary ballot.[1]
