Brenda Olson is the Republican candidate for the New Mexico House of Representatives, District 28, in the November 3, 2026 general election, challenging incumbent Pamelya Herndon (D).[1][2] A retired U.S. Air Force veteran and human resources manager, she served in the Air Force from 1976 to 1994.[1][3]
Olson served in the U.S. Air Force from 1976 to 1994 and earned a graduate degree from the University of Phoenix in Albuquerque in 2001; her career experience includes working in human resources.[1] In a 2026 Ballotpedia survey, Olson's responses described her as a nuclear missile technician and operations resource manager in the Air Force, who later worked as a destination travel agent and retired as a human resources manager with the U.S. Forest Service.[3]
The survey listed her key messages as crime, accountability and reform of the Children, Youth and Families Department.[3] It said she supports a three-strikes law for repeat violent offenders and a full independent audit of state government spending, and that she has worked on election integrity efforts in Bernalillo County since 2019.[3]
